HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ATTEND LIGHTWAVE FESTIVAL?
Lightwave is free!
There is no entry fee for the main event on Saturday 12 July or Wind Down in the Orchard on Sunday 13 July however, bring cash or card to purchase food and drinks.
The opening night, ‘Luminance’, is the festival’s only ticketed event (and sells out quickly).
Stay locally, eat locally and support mid-winter business on Turrakana Tasman Peninsula.
PARKING
Parking is at either end of the car-free festival site in central Nubeena.
Parking is limited, please consider carpooling with friends or jump on the Lightwave Bus.
IS LIGHTWAVE ACCESSIBLE?
The festival site is mostly flat and a mixture of grass and asphalt. Most venues are wheelchair accessible. Accessible toilets are located at The Tasman Community House and Judd Park.
ARE THERE PLACES TO SIT?
Yes, seating is provided at the main food court, around fires on Tasman School Grounds and at the back of the main marquee. Tasman Community House and Nubeena CWA Hall have seating and are lovely places to have a cuppa and warm up.
BARS
Our bars feature locally produced beverages. The alcohol zone is between Tasman Pharmacy carpark and Ninch Cider courtyard.
STRICTLY NO BYO (the festival is free so please purchase all of your drinks on the night).
Note: alcohol is not permitted on Tasman District School grounds.
ARE DOGS OKAY?
Best to leave your beloved pooch at home, the festival is a busy place with lots of movement, lights, and sound. No dogs on site, thank you.
IS LIGHTWAVE FAMILY FRIENDLY?
Yes, the festival is family friendly with lots of things for kids to see and do. The Nubeena CWA is especially great for families with small children. Teenagers can head across the road to Tasman Community House to play glow-in-the-dark basketball in the forecourt. Lightwave is a truly intergenerational community celebration and all ages are welcome.
FOOD
A variety of food vans provide delicious dinner and dessert options across two food court areas, one in the Tasman Pharmacy carpark and the other across the road inside Tasman District School grounds.
FIRST AID
First Aid is provided by St Johns Ambulance which are located on Tasman District School grounds.
LOST PROPERTY
Lost property is at Ninch Cider. If you find something, leave it with the bar staff at Ninch Cider and if you’ve lost something, please register at Ninch Cider. Things always turn up the next day!
SHARING IMAGES
Lightwave Festival is a photographer’s playground, there is so much to capture. Check out the Floral Arch on Tasman District School grounds, it’s a great photo spot. Remember to ask permission if you are photographing people who you do not know with the intention of posting on social media, thanks.
